Combined insecticide resistance mechanisms can act synergistically, leading to striking resistance phenotypes in malaria-transmitting mosquitoes

IMBB researchers, in collaboration with LSTM (UK), use functional genetics in malaria-transmitting mosquitoes to show how combinations of different insecticide resistance mechanisms can lead to multiplicatively stronger resistance phenotypes. The findings provide new insights into the molecular basis of insecticide resistance and support its effective management.
